Even though the digital age has dominated multiple industries, using hard copies can still be useful. Many businesses continue to depend on carbonless tech; this is where the idea of the carbon copy comes from, as evidenced by the “CC” line and the “BCC” line (for blind carbon copy) when you are composing an email at your office. Adding Convenience
You might be wondering how to take your forms and make them more convenient. You are in luck because that is our next point of discussion. These forms are often collected into pads before being sent to the individual offices that order them. Please note that these are slightly different than blank lined pages arranged into notepads or legal pads. Glue or staples hold these pads together, and the bundles are usually anywhere between 25-50 pages attached to one another.
Perforated Ply
These pads are usually perforated. It’s a printing industry term for making the ply easier to remove from the pads when you need to tear some off. The last ply is also made of thicker stock than all of the others to help prevent unnecessary damage from ripping.
Padded Forms
All padded forms should be wrapped in a heavier cardstock cover. The wraparound covers, as they are known, help prevent the pen from pressing into the sheet behind the one being written on and allowing the ink to bleed data or information onto the next page. These padded forms are also given other finishing touches, such as unique sequential numbers that make them far easier to track, especially when done in red ink.
Various Configurations
You have various configurations at your disposal. It all comes down to what you want and what you need. The three most common types are called 2-part, 3-part, and 4-part. Plus, each sheet is often printed in different colors and not grayscale; this is done to differentiate the original top-sheet from all of the other NCR forms underneath it.
